How to Check Your Installer & Products (Step-by-Step)

Due Diligence in 5 Minutes
You wouldn't hire an unlicensed electrician. Don't hire an unaccredited solar installer. Here is how to check.
1. Check the Installer (SAA)
As of 2024, accreditation is managed by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA).
- Go to: saaustralia.com.au/accreditation-status-check/
- Enter their First and Last Name (or Accreditation Number if you have it).
- Look for: "Design and Install" accreditation. Some are only accredited for design, meaning they can't legally do the wiring.
2. Check the Retailer (NETCC)
The company selling you the system should be a "New Energy Tech Approved Seller" (formerly CEC Approved Retailer).
Get 3 Free Quotes from Local Installers
Comparing quotes from CEC-accredited installers in your area is the best way to ensure you get the right system at the right price. Our network of vetted professionals can provide obligation-free quotes tailored to your home.
- Go to: newenergytech.org.au
- Search the company name. This ensures they have signed a code of conduct for fair sales and marketing.
3. Check the Hardware (CEC Approved List)
To get the rebate, your panels and inverter MUST be on the Clean Energy Council approved list.
- Panels: CEC Approved Modules List
- Inverters: CEC Approved Inverters List
Pro Tip: Check the exact model number on your quote against these lists. Sometimes "Series 5" is approved, but "Series 5 Eco" isn't.
